Are you enthusiastic, focused and independent-minded? Want to gain experience of public affairs and an insight into policing and community safety?

An exciting opportunity has developed to join the team which supports Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner Philip Seccombe as a Public Affairs Intern. This is a new role which will help us expand our small but dedicated team of staff.

The successful candidate will assist the office in a wide range of activities. From undertaking research surveys and fact-finding exercises, to supporting the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner at community or partnership events and assisting with publicity campaigns, you’ll be exposed to all aspects of our work to deliver the Commissioner’s Police and Crime Plan for Warwickshire.

You must be organised, able to undertake quick research tasks, make arrangements for events, be able to take notes, compile feedback reports and build a rapport with different audiences. Professionalism and confidentiality is also a must, as you will come into contact with sensitive police information during the course of your duties.

Our internship scheme is designed for recent graduates, college leavers or those looking to increase their knowledge of the policing sector. It’s a fantastic opportunity to take first steps into a career in public affairs or policing governance.  You will not necessarily need any previous experience to apply but an interest in improving community safety alongside an awareness of current affairs is desirable.

This is paid role, earning the Living Wage, for a fixed term of one year.
